Guided Zygoma Research Project
Patient Information

Pi Dental Center is conducting a study called The Computer Guided Verification Study Using The Zygoma Implant.  The Zygoma Implant is not an experimental implant. This study is being done to determine that the computer-guided procedure, which is now used regularly with other types of dental implants, can be used with the Zygoma Implant.  A small discount will be offered to patients who qualify for this study.  Patients who may qualify for this study must have no natural upper teeth at the time the study begins.  These patients cannot have taken bisphosphonates (Actonel, Fosamax, Boniva or injectable bisphosphonates) at any time past or present.  They cannot be smokers.  Both men and women are candidates. The patients must have bone loss in the upper arch.  Patients must be adults. 

If you are interested in this study and feel that you meet the criteria described above, please contact our center.  Follow-up visits are required at month one, three, six and seven and years one, two, three and five.

Requirements
  • Has no natural upper teeth
  • Has never have taken bisphosphonates
  • Does not smoke
  • Is an adult
  • Does not have uncontrolled diabetes
  • Has no infection or disease of the opposing dentition
  • Has some bone loss
  • Man or woman

Follow-up visits:

  • One month following surgery
  • Three months following surgery
  • Six months following surgery
  • Seven months following surgery
  • One year following surgery
  • Two years following surgery
  • Three years following surgery
